I talk to so many women who are high achievers. We think we have to be perfect, get it just right on the first try, and look good doing it.
...but what if we didn't? What if we could give ourselves the grace we extend to others. What if we could allow ourselves to be imperfect?
How does it feel to tell yourself:
I am enough just as I am.
I give myself permission to be imperfect.
I give myself permission to try, learn as I go, and take steps forward.
We are not in control of the outcome, so there is no reason to hold onto this perfection ideal we've made up in our heads. We will be paralyzed with inaction if we think we either have to be perfect or not move at all. So let's let that idea go. Let's decide we get to take small actions forward. Let's decide to be brave and live imperfectly.
Imperfect is beautiful.
You are beautiful.
You don't have to beat yourself up anymore. You don't have to be perfect.
You can be human. You can just be. It has always been enough. Everything else is overflow.
